Certificates in Basic Automotive Technology

Students enrolling in automotive technology have two options of study: automotive technology certificates, or a two-year associate of applied science degree. Beginning next fall, the program will have two certification levels. Level 1 will prepare students in engine repair, manual drive train and axles, suspension and steering, brakes and basic electrical systems. Level 2 will be expanded to include automatic transmission and transaxles, heating and air conditioning, electronic systems and engine performance.

Completion of these certificates prepares students for the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification Tests.
